Conquest 2015/2016 is Here!

This is the first update to the blog in a loooong time! Well, we promise to keep the updates coming on a more regular basis from here on. Come back often because you will find up-to-date information about our schedule, activities, contacts, and more. You can subscribe simply by entering your email (see the box to the right). This is the easiest way to guarantee that you will never miss out on future updates because they will go straight to your inbox.

Many of the dads and boys met recently to set the schedule for this year and to gather ideas about goals and activities for the club. We reviewed the survey results, which showed a preference to maintain the every-other-Friday rhythm. We also welcomed some new families and we are very excited to encounter these fresh faces and ideas!

The dates for the first Campaign will be (Fridays at 7:00PM):

10/9
10/23
11/6
11/20
12/4
12/18

We are still finalizing locations for these, depending on availability and the activities that will be planned for each meeting.

Update: A ConQuest Poll!

The results of the survey favor having the meeting early at 10:00 AM at the Barn with some time for formation and possibly a brief activity. We will plan to have some pizza delivered for lunch and then head over to Howell for the rally. If you and your son(s) cannot join us at the rally, then please note that the regular portion of our meeting will end at 11:30 AM.

In a recent post I mentioned the Stand Up Rally for Religious Freedom that will take place in downtown Howell at the historic courthouse this Saturday at Noon. It has been suggested that we combine this event with the meeting that we have already planned later this same day. This would require us pulling our meeting ahead several hours.

While the rallies are nationwide and have been planned for some time, the Howell location was added only within the last couple days. We realize that many of you may have already have made other plans. Therefore, we have created a poll to determine whether or not to pull our meeting forward and combine it with the rally.

What is your preference for the meeting this Saturday?

This could be a marvelous opportunity to demonstrate Catholic leadership-in-action to the boys . We as individuals and as a Church are under attack by our own federal government. Our basic freedoms are being trampled upon and our bishops have made it clear that we cannot comply with the government's demands.
