Another Tiring Night at Conquest!

On November 17th, we had one of our most heavily-attended meetings in a long while! It was great to see 20 boys and 10 dads present for a fun, educational, evening. We welcomed Joshua and Jonathan to Conquest for the first time. After a brutal series of tug-o-war contests among the boys, Mr. Borek and Mr. Frederick taught them how to change a car tire.

Later, the Junior and Father-and-Son groups prepared posters that demonstrated what they have learned about SELF-DISCIPLINE over the last few meetings. The young guys presented their ideas with courage and enthusiasm to a panel of "celebrity" peer judges, who were selected from among the older Club group. The judges (who themselves were once in the youngsters' shoes) scored the contest with fairness and flair! The creativity of these guys really shined through that night!

Go Support Father Gabriel Richard Football This Saturday!

From one of our Conquest parents:

Just wanted to invite anyone who may be interested to come to Howell High School at 1:00 Saturday to watch our son and the Father Gabriel Richard's football team as they play in the Division 5 Semi-finals against Portland.

This is the farthest Gabriel Richard has ever gone in the playoffs, and we are hoping for a lot of support and noise from fans on Saturday. From what we hear, the whole town of Portland is behind their team, so we want to invite as many FGR supporters as possible!

If you can't make it to the game, it will be streamed live on foxsportsdetroit.com (click on the Prep zone).

This sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Of course, coming directly to Conquest afterward can only make it better!

Please pray for the success and safety of all the players!

Never a Dull Moment at Conquest!

Mr. Burke demonstrated proper knife safety in our most recent meeting. I think we all learned something of great value that night. In hindsight, this activity fit perfectly with our virtue theme of this campaign: Self-Discipline.

We were joined for the first time by Anthony and Dylan. Welcome to Conquest, boys!

The Juniors group continued with their studies about St. Therese of Lisieux and the Club boys started planning a project that they thought up all on their own. They want to organize and host a Catholic mini-conference for the Livingston County area. It would be for boys and their dads and might include several speakers, breakfast, and of course Holy Mass. They hope to bring their positive experiences at Conquest to as many people as possible.

Please support the boys with your prayers and advice as they undertake this very ambitious and holy project!
